Jude Boutie is one of a kind in her drive, passion and humanity. So telling her story was a pleasure for us as there was loads of drama and emotion to capture.
Working with zero30 Media, our team covered this high-profile event over a three-week multi-location shoot taking in The Big Walk in 4 different UK counties. In total we produced 5 hours of high-quality films which featured on prime-time slots on BBC News at Ten and live on The One Show, as well as specially-produced social media edits.

Across 21 days in May and June 2016, 13 people from diverse walks of life came together for annual The Great Big Walk organised by Eden Project Communities.
Separated into 5 teams, each team walked from the Leeds to Sth Cornwall, Cardiff (Wales), Belfast (Ireland), London and Edinburgh (Scotland). At a time when public opinion has been polarised in dramatic ways, this mass-participatory event celebrated the idea that we have more in common than divides us. We were on hand to document an inclusive and inspiring stroll.
In this film, “unsung heroes” from the local community and participants from The Great Big Walk meet up at Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage HQ in Axminster. Having laid on tea and a selection of cakes to make Mary Berry green with envy, the genial host shares his thoughts on why the gentle art of walking and talking makes perfect sense.

One of a series of Big Walk events hosted by The Eden Project’s Eden Communities initiative.
We love films that give us a chance to really capture good things going on and try and drive changed as a result.
In this film, our team put the spotlight on community members at Llandrindod in Wales, where local Pomarium members who grow trees and food invited guests to a big picnic with purpose. Thanks to the local business community, over 50 fruit trees were donated and once mature, the fruit from these trees will be free to anyone who wishes to pick it.
This film is part of a wider series of daily updates in which we followed walkers from London, Cornwall, Wales, Scotland and Ireland, journeying with them as they connected with local projects and communities along the way to shine a light on the fantastic local initiatives that people are undertaking around our country. The full team involved shooting with a director, on-site editor, producer, photographer, PR and a daily social media push to drum up interest and grow audiences in this important project, as part of Eden Communities’ wider projects that still run today.

The Big Walk: Man V Horse
Instead of competing against each other, competitors in this Llanwyrtyd race were, as the event name suggests, Man V Horse.

This was shot in the Llanwyrtyd Wells area of Wales, where Big Walk supporters took part in a slightly unusual race. Instead of competing against each other, the competitors in this race would be (as the event is titled) Man V Horse. Though just a bit of fun for the runners and riders, for the town it’s a vital occasion on which much-needed funding is raised by the over 1000 attendants that participate.

In this film, our crew worked alongside zero 30 Media to capture the community spirit found at Windmill Hill City Farm in the Bristol area. As a site which was saved from being developed into a high-security lorry park 40 years ago through the efforts of the local community, a previously derelict area has been transformed into a green space.
Now a well-established local attraction, Windmill Hill City Farm offers free access to all and provides kids and families with a valuable space for the community to enjoy a natural environment and interact with farm animals.
