The creative process of Pop Art. Or is it Pup Art?
Is any idea ever truly original? Perhaps not. Everything we create is shaped by the world around us and the things that inspire us.
For a while, there’s been a blank wall in the office in need of some love. We threw around ideas for what to do with it, but inspiration finally struck thanks to a team visit to the MOCO Museum in December. Surrounded by works from Banksy, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Damien Hirst, it was two striking portraits of the Queen—one by Andy Warhol and the other by Chris Levine—that sparked the creation of Pup Art.
That process got me thinking about the ethics of artistic inspiration. Lately, we’ve been exploring AI-generated images and videos, and while the technology is undeniably impressive, AI doesn’t create—it compiles. It dissects existing work and reconstructs it into something it predicts will fit a certain aesthetic or prompt.
The real magic that comes from human creative inspiration is the context, the intention, the emotion behind it. Levine has openly credited Warhol as an influence, just as Warhol himself was inspired by other prominent artists, a society obsessed with celebrity culture, consumerism, and even his relationship with his mother and her artistic influence. Both artists took their inspirations and created something uniquely their own, infusing their work with meaning and personal perspective—each offering a different portrayal of the Queen.
Now, this piece hangs proudly in the Cloud9Media office as a reflection of that idea. Inspired by a shared experience and a piece of art we witnessed together, it embodies our love for creativity, collaboration, and—of course—the true queen of our office: Peach.
So, enjoy this short film: The Making of Pup Art.

Join us as we take you behind the camera to see how Cloud9Media brought Hammersmith & Fulham’s Interfaith Week to life. Over the course of just two days, we undertook the ambitious task of filming 12 contributor interviews, capturing the voices of faith leaders and community members.
This project wasn’t just about logistics—it was about sensitivity, respect, and storytelling. Tackling the deeply personal topics of religion, tolerance, and community, we strived to create a safe, open environment where contributors could share their stories.
Although tiring, this was a truly rewarding project and the team had a lot of fun in the making! A true celebration of dialogue and connection in a diverse community.

LATAM Climathon Sustainability:
The EU’s Climate KIC team wanted to capture the remarkable work in seeding sustainability ideas thanks to their Climathons, run across the globe. This one features the LATAM region.
So we sent out a filming brief document to teams across Latin America and West Africa with filming guidelines in order to grab a snapshot of what went on in 27 countries!
As with all user-generated content the material we got back was of mixed quality. So we devised a graphical format and a pacing for the films that soon turned raw amateur footage in to a compelling argument for why people should attend these remarkable events.
“The end result was EXCELLENT! They did a great job at digesting a lot information and content, and working with them was easy and very pleasant. They take the time to really understand what you need and want to achieve.”

This film is one of a four part series for Nice Rice, winners of The Future of Food 2024, made with footage that company owner Fergus obtained on a recent trip to India, filmed by a local cameraman.
Let’s face it, although being an inspired entrepreneur, Fergus is better in conversation than when reading off a script. So we decided to do an audio-only interview – podcast-style – to put him at ease away from the bright lights and cameras, allowing him to speak naturally. We chopped a long conversation down in to 4 standalone films, that our in-house editor Bruno turned in to some really cool, punchy films for social media.
And with their offices across the corridor from ours in the Shepherds Building, collaborating on this project couldn’t have been easier. We get a lot of free rice now – and it’s quite nice!
