Capturing the unique spirit of a vibrant local independent business in a short film of 1 minute is no mean feat – but with this film for Deluxe Coffeeworks London, we think we nailed it.
Providing Londoners with a warm welcome and superb daily-roasted coffee, Deluxe Coffeeworks are a South African coffee shop group who opened up a London shop and roastery in 2022.
Being newcomers to the London coffee scene, the business was looking to communicate the uncompromising quality of the coffee and the chilled open vibe, so iconic of Cape Town. The film is the result of our team’s tour of the roastery, and in depth interviews with the founders, and some of their customers.
Created for social media, this is an example of how our approach to film production combines truth and magic to create an impactful profile piece that captures the spirit and ethos of a brand.
Costa Foundation: More Than Coffee
This is how the Costa Foundation is giving back to the communities that grow our coffee beans.
*** Shortlisted as a Finalist in the Smiley Charity Film Awards 2023 ***
The Costa Foundation is the charitable branch of Costa Coffee, but raises all of its money from customer donations to carry out transformative work abroad. This film looks at how this extraordinary work is helping some of the world’s most disadvantaged children achieve a better foundation in their lives.
Motivated with a desire to give back to the communities that grow our coffee beans, the Foundation’s dedicated Store Champions have developed innovative ways to raise awareness and money for the vital work of the Foundation, building over 90 schools and 750 classrooms in 10 different countries across the world.
Despite the strain placed on collecting donations by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Costa Foundation is determined to involve customers even further in its journey, changing children’s education and ultimately their lives for the better.
What does Love mean to you?
We wanted to hear from our neighbours and colleagues what they had to say about love.
We wanted to hear from our neighbours and colleagues what they had to say about love, so we asked them to answer a simple question: “What does love mean to you?”.
Makes us tear up every time!
What Did You Have For Breakfast?
A light-hearted compilation of our favourite answers to the interview warmup question 'what did you have for breakfast?'.
Don’t be fooled – being interviewed is never easy.
So the key to getting someone comfortable in an interview is to not dive in with the hard-hitting questions. If your interviewee is nervous or not used to being in front of a camera, asking them basic questions and getting them chatting is the perfect way to warm them up. Our go-to?: what did you have for breakfast.
As it turns out, we’ve asked this a lot so we thought it would be a fitting tribute to a well-trod question to make a compilation of some of our favourite answers (with a few familiar Cloud9 faces!).
