FICO World ’24 Event Promo

While an event might only last a day or two, the experience of the attendees is timeless, providing the best proof of success.

Every year, FICO World brings a wide range of business innovation and data science experts together under one roof. As the media partner of choice for the last 10 years, they turned to us when they wanted to showcase the variety and impact of their technology sessions and seminars, and to explain how it informs and benefits their customers, clients and attendees.

Armed with multiple cameras and thought-provoking Q&As throughout the weeklong event, we collated and pieced together this film for them from FICO World ’23, to advertise for their next event in 2024.

Capturing the insights, the spirit and the milestones of an event is the next logical step towards retaining customers and growing interest in future events.

C&R Software

C&R Software take pride in their software and implementations that improve collections and recovery by helping people avoid getting in to debt in the first place.

We worked with them to help bring the personality of their company visionary CEO Ed Wallen and show how his values of compassion and fairness permeate every area of their offering.

C&R were keen to show the human side of collections and recovery and as ever, behind every decision lies an interesting, driven individual.

Digital Indigestion: We Have The Cure

As experts in digital transformation, we wanted to highlight the feeling we all get when stuff doesn’t work the way we expect it to. Face it – haven’t you made those noises at times? That’s why we firmly believe connecting with the human behind the technology can help everything coalesce and provide a remedy to digital indigestion, like an alka-seltzer.

Setting up in our studio in Shepherd’s Bush, we asked our team to make the many frustrated noises we all make when digital tech just doesn’t work.

We drew on our own creative skills to create a chord of perfect harmony, much as we do with our productions.

Off The Grid Financing Solutions

As part of FICO’s global reach of partners, Círculo de Crédito was selected to talk about their experience in giving wider access to credit in a country like Mexico where many people are “off the grid”. As one of the fastest-growing credit bureaus in Mexico, CDC uses FICO‘s unique credit risk scores to boost financial inclusion helping an additional 20 million citizens access credit. Credit they wouldn’t normally get, transforming their lives as a consequence. This made it a story worth telling.

Working with the Mexican film company Cactus, we created a full storyline and brief; we conducted the interview remotely from London (with a video feed direct from the camera) and oversaw the shots. With post-production in London it became a global production with a fast turnaround.

Be An Intelligence Hero

We created our Hero Booth to be set up at FICO World 2023 – a chance to turn the cameras on the attendees themselves to see how they resonated with some of the more personal themes at the event.

The Hero Booth is our own invention, developed over the years at large events to capture the voice of the people: delegates are invited in to an unsuspecting sound-proof space, away from hustle and bustle, and asked unexpected questions provoking a spontaneous response.

We opened this 1500+ event with a theme-setting film on the possibilities of AI to help us be the heroes of change. This film was then shown at the close of the event, to consolidate attendee’s answers to the question of what it mean to be a hero.

It’s a great celebration of all the work attendees do, the businesses they represent and the power in their hands to change the lives of their customers.

This film reflects our ethos of putting the spotlight on the people behind a brand and its products and services. Films like these create connections with viewers and contextualise what can be otherwise complex or technical subject matter. It’s a great example of an unscripted film that gives people the chance to speak from the heart. There’s no greater truth about an event than that of the people who attend it, allowing them to be genuine ambassadors for your brand.

The beauty of this format is we can get several edits / films out of one sitting. By asking all the delegates the same 3-5 questions, we created a series that gave all the dozens of interviewees a chance to make an appearance. A series of films films allows for regular output for social media.

These can be quite emotional films (a seasoned producer is key!) and have the potential to be shared online by the individuals themselves, growing your network and raising engagement in, and the visibility of, your brand across social media channels.

We wish more businesses and networks would use this creation to capture their ecosystem.

The secret is in two areas: our interaction with the individuals, appealing to the person behind the mask and creating an environment that allows this to come forward; our love of the subtleties of humanity comes across in the edit and choice of music.

The Hero Booth, like our Instabooth created for FICO World 2018 at the Fountainbleu Hotel in Miami, is a great example of how we like to create our own solutions that maximise on all elements of an event to humanise it and give it longevity, such as making the most of the human capital to create some cute content.

It’s what we’re all about: truth & magic.

Digital Jane: Mortgage Originations

The next step in the journey for Digital Jane. She and her boyfriend take the plunge to buy a condo while behind the scenes, FICO’s Platform analyses her data to evaluate and approve their mortgage.

The original series created for FICO was so successful, we were commissioned to make a second series, helping script storylines that reflect the opportunities that FICO’s technology provide to customers and their consumers.

Using stock shots, we created a fictitious character, telling her story in a series of 6 chapters that explain how banks, insurance companies and 3rd party retailers can best interact with customers when and where it matters.

This film is featured on the FICO website, and this series was the ‘talk of the town’ at FICO World 2023, has become a great sales tool for FICO and has helped their software engineers appreciate the impact their work is having on the business.

Join the Intelligence Revolution

Our event opening film for FICO World 2023 in Florida which put the focus on the visionary changemakers that have driven intelligence revolutions in history.

Created using stock shots, stills, animations and a voice over, the film debuted to a fantastic response from over 1500 delegates gathered at one of the world’s largest gatherings of data science and business innovation experts.

In the words of FICO CMO, Nikhil Behl: “I get chills every time I watch this video!”

Breaking the Bias

When we create films, we always strive to humanise the story, by getting to the heart of the matter – and in this case, there was a very compelling backstory that deserved to be told.

Launched in the 1960s, the introduction of FICO’s credit scoring was a game changer that helped level the playing field for women when it came to accessing loans for homes and cars. This was a fascinating journey into how the company was instrumental in breaking the bias of the past, and a powerful and inspiring message to capture on film. Films that deal with addressing fairness strike a particular chord for us given it plays a pivotal role in our company ethos.

The Anatomy of Implementation

Software implementation might not sound exciting, but the people who make it happen certainly are!

We spent a couple of days bedding down with some of the world’s brightest programmers to see what it takes to get complex software that can decide people’s financial outcomes to run flawlessly on multi-million pound financial platforms. The result is this candid look into the world of C&R Software, which reveals how their team’s dedication and use of innovation have enabled an impeccable track record of delivery of software implementation.

As a showcase of company culture, this was a great opportunity to capture the passion of their team when describing this important part of what defines them as a business.

Fighting the Good Fight

Credit Bureau APC Intelidat helps the Panamanian banking industry fight the good fight when it comes to financial crime. With more than half a billion transactions checked for unusual behaviour every day, the success of APC’s contribution is based on its strong partnership with FICO.

In this short film we got to the heart of that relationship to put the spotlight on a partnership that serves as a powerful testimonial.

This film was created as part of a series of testimonials shot over two days in a bespoke studio set up at FICO World. Setting up a studio in one place and capturing a variety of content is a great way to maximise ROI at an event, while experts gathered in one place – and means less disruption when compared to trying to achieve the same in a workplace. An additional benefit of a temporary studio set up at an event is that the same film team would be on hand for all recordings, making for a more consistent look and feel for the full suite of assets generated.
