Breaking the Bias
When we create films, we always strive to humanise the story, by getting to the heart of the matter – and in this case, there was a very compelling backstory that deserved to be told.
Launched in the 1960s, the introduction of FICO’s credit scoring was a game changer that helped level the playing field for women when it came to accessing loans for homes and cars. This was a fascinating journey into how the company was instrumental in breaking the bias of the past, and a powerful and inspiring message to capture on film. Films that deal with addressing fairness strike a particular chord for us given it plays a pivotal role in our company ethos.
Stamp Out Oncho Social Series
To support the Mectizan Donation Program’s Stamp Out Oncho campaign, and to compliment the longer films we have already produced for them, MDP commissioned a series of short social media clips. The intention behind them was to summarise different aspects of the Stamp Out Oncho story in bite-size films that could be easily distributed.
This is a good example of how our approach of using previously-shot footage, text graphics, and animations, enables us to repurpose existing content to breath new life into a campaign.
Neglected Tropical Diseases Showcase
Cloud9Media have been working within global health for more than a decade. This showcase brings together dozens of films that raise awareness for NTDs from projects spanning the globe.
FICO Fraud & Financial Crime Portfolio
For over 25 years, fintech company FICO has created products that detect and prevent fraud for its client’s customers. FICO came to us to commission a film that explains how their fraud and financial crime portfolio achieves this whilst delivering consumer experiences that are convenient and secure.
This particular film uses graphics animation to show, in a simple way, some of the complex processes at play.
The Dance of AI
When the fintech company FICO requested a film that would kick their annual conference off with a bang, they took a leap of faith with this one.
And it paid off.
From commissioning two talented dancers, to bespoke music and a script that tied the evolution of AI to the present day, we created an art-piece that received standing ovations amongst a 1400 strong audience and established the metaphor of AI as a dance that became the central theme for this four day conference in New York.
Look Great on Camera Filming At Home
Let’s face it, a lot of us are still working from home, and may be for a long time. This doesn’t mean we can’t be outputting engaging and interesting video content. However, filming in a home set up can be daunting, especially when you have little experience. This is where the Cloud9 Filming From Home guide is here to help.
Covering everything from how to light yourself, sound, and tips and tricks to look professional in front of the camera, this comprehensive guide should be all you need to start producing video content, and look great while you do it.
BA Flying Start 10th Anniversary
When our long-standing video partnership with British Airways and Comic Relief led to BA approaching us to make a video celebrating the 10th anniversary of their Flying Start campaign, they knew they were in good hands.
They needed something fun, lively, and engaging to encompass all of the incredible things that the partnership has achieved, as well as it being suited for broadcast internally and on their social channels. To achieve this we took a deep dive into both our own and also BA’s archives to put together a short, punchy video that holds nothing back in delivering the message.

Eddie Izzard: Marathon Man – Life on Robben Island
Sometimes, we must draw hope from the most unlikely places. As part of his incredible 27-marathons-in-27-days challenge for Sport Relief, Eddie completed a marathon on Robben Island, where his hero Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years.
In this film, one of several daily updates for BBC3 tracing his journey, Eddie uses Mandela’s own words to describe the isolation and grinding routine of prison life. Yet, even in this bleak environment, the prisoner never gave up.
“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but triumph over fear,” Eddie narrates. Sharing one of the most poignant moments in Eddie’s epic journey, this film is also a moving tribute to the great man who inspired it.
From Mvezo (the birthplace of Nelson Mandela) to the finishing line in Pretoria, our team documented Eddie’s incredible journey every step of the way. Series Producer Steve Maud worked with Director of Photography Aaron Witchard to deliver daily content for BBC3’s new exclusively online channel on behalf of Lion TV.
Filming, editing and uploading over 100 short films in less than a month required absolute focus, logistical precision, and not a little stamina of our own. Eddie’s run captured the public’s imagination and raised more than £1 million for Sport Relief.
“Filming this day was an experience I’ll never forget,” says Steve. “It’s such an incredible story, we decided to use Mandela’s own words to capture that sense of history.”
BA Flying Start – The Power of Sport
This is a longer Flying Start film used by British Airways internally to raise awareness for their massive fundraising mechanism, off the back of the in-flight film that is currently running on all long-haul flights.
For this film we went for life through the eyes of three British Airways cabin crew, and the two projects they visited in Sheffield and Johannesburg.
Seeing the world of others through the eyes of passionate champions for the brand is a great formula to share experiences and get people thinking along the same lines.
