FICO World 2024 Event Opener

As the film partner for each year’s FICO World – the world’s leading data science and decisioning event – one of our many deliverables is the creation of the event opener. It’s this film that sets the theme, tone and spirit of the event at the start of a busy week.

As a London-based film production company, it was a real feather in our cap when we were brought on board for the first time as film partner at FICO World in San Diego in 2014. Applying our skills at the world’s largest gathering of data analytics and business decisioning experts offered us an opportunity to spread our wings in a host of new ways.

This year was the biggest FICO World yet for us, with a team of 17 crew on the ground for an action-packed week delivering a wide range of assets, including the event opener.

This film, along with ‘The Age Of Applied Intelligence‘ and ‘Be An Intelligence Hero‘, marks the conclusion of a three-year narrative arc for the event opener, which frames attendees as financial empowerment heroes, whose work using the FICO Platform has the potential to revolutionise how consumers are able to access credit. Using this uniting theme in the event opener film has been of great benefit to the client, as it shines a light on the work their customers do whilst highlighting the innovation that drives FICO‘s decisioning software.

This year also marks our 10th anniversary as the nominated film partner to FICO’s flagship event, with this year seeing us return to San Diego, where our role in the event all began for us back in 2014!

FICO Fraud & Financial Crime Portfolio

For over 25 years, fintech company FICO has created products that detect and prevent fraud for its client’s customers. FICO came to us to commission a film that explains how their fraud and financial crime portfolio achieves this whilst delivering consumer experiences that are convenient and secure.

This particular film uses graphics animation to show, in a simple way, some of the complex processes at play.

Normalise: Behind the Scenes

When we got the call to make a film about normalising testing for COVID-19 around the world, we leapt to the challenge.

Storyboarding, working with three filming crews (including actors, locations, costume etc..) in India, Estonia and Kenya, the result is ‘Normalise: Behind The Scenes’, which we filmed using a series of sequences to highlight what lives could be like if we all knew our status at any given moment in the day.

BA Flying Start – The Power of Sport

This is a longer Flying Start film used by British Airways internally to raise awareness for their massive fundraising mechanism, off the back of the in-flight film that is currently running on all long-haul flights.

For this film we went for life through the eyes of three British Airways cabin crew, and the two projects they visited in Sheffield and Johannesburg.

Seeing the world of others through the eyes of passionate champions for the brand is a great formula to share experiences and get people thinking along the same lines.

Access to clean water in Kenya

Charity partnerships like The One Foundation and World Duty Free are incredibly powerful, helping raise millions of pounds for longterm causes like access to clean water in Kenya.

We followed a team of staff from various airports in the UK on their journey to Kenya, where they saw first-hand the difference that access to clean water was making in the lives of people living in some of the most deprived areas of the country. To capture a bunch of people who have never been to this part of the world, and who are seeing the impact of their work, was rewarding in its own right.

Thanks to bottles of One Water they sell at Gatwick, Aberdeen and Manchester airports, lives are being changed for the better as access to clean water becomes a reality.

The film was shown to all staff members of World Duty Free at their annual All Hands meeting to help contextualise where the money they raise through water sales goes.
