C&R Software: Compassion in finance

In a world where people see debt spiralling out of control, this company is helping financial institutions offer their end-users the very best service, to lift them out of poverty.

Travelling out to Ed’s ranch and then to his offices in Fairfax Virginia, we got a great insight in to what makes his leadership style so unique and yet appropriate for the type of service C&R offer. It was a great chance to get under the skin of what really makes Ed tick.

World Courier: A driver’s story

World Courier specialise in delivering high-value treatments around the world that can’t afford to be late.

The company wanted to capture the unique personality-types that work well in their organisation, so we spent time with Paul who showed us what life is like when you’re got a consignment in the back of your van that can mean the difference between life and death.

Playhood: A Montessori Nursery School

Filmed during lockdown in two sittings (not too far apart before the kids grow) we made this film to capture a brilliant new concept, combining a top-class Montessori nursery with a professional workspace all in one – allowing parents and children to bring their whole selves to work. We all need a chance to develop as rounded people whether we’re kids or adults!

Riding for the Disabled COVID Appeal

Charlotte, who could be considered severely disabled, had her life transformed by horse-riding and the therapy it provides. But Riding for the Disabled Association has now had to close all their riding centres. The future impact of COVID has more far-reaching implications that we could ever imagine.

We filmed Charlotte originally for a fundraising gala dinner, and decided to repurpose the edit for more wider and pressing appeal.

Remembering our filming experience with this sweet-natured girl and her un-bounding energy brings a smile to our faces.

Her mother, Helen Seth, said:

“I wanted to say a big thank you for the lovely video that you made of Charlotte for the RDA – it’s really lovely and captures Charlotte so well and really highlights her abilities. You were also really lovely with her during the filming process and we all enjoyed the day.”

Stamp Out Oncho: A Distributor’s Story

Stamp Out Oncho is a campaign idea that Cloud9Media came up with on behalf of the Mectizan Donation Programme, to galvanise ministers of health around Africa to take an interest in eliminating the crippling and unnecessary disease, onchocerciasis or River Blindness.

The success of the campaign, to get everyone to take Mectizan to protect them from River Blindness, has been enabled by village health workers like Edoa Pierre, one of many community drug distributors who travel miles and miles to deliver Mectizan in communities around Cameroon.

Penguin Publishing Process Flagship

From seven interviews and seven sector videos, Penguin Random House asked us to compile a longer, all-encompassing film that could serve as a one-stop-shop for anyone wanting to know a little more about the publishing process. With minimal extra filming, we took our original content and created the perfect flagship for PRH. It gained more than 7,000 views within the first day of being posted on LinkedIn and aims to stand the test of time as guide to the inner workings at PRH.

Penguin Publishing Process: The Editor

As part of a whole suite of day-in-the-life films we have made for Penguin Random House this year, this first film looks at the crucial role the editor plays in getting a book published.

This series of films are housed on the Penguin Random House Careers website.

When published on LinkedIn it received 3k views within the first day of publishing.

Stamp Out Onchocerciasis!

Getting people to stand up and take action is at the core of the Mectizan Donation Programme’s remit. Especially when the intended audience are Ministers of Health in African countries. This is the first of a series of films intended to get key influencers to commit to putting their name to a 30 year-long elimination programme – ridding Africa of River Blindness or onchocerciasis. If we work together we can stamp out oncho!

We used a local fixer to go in search of stories that were set up in advance of our shooting producer director’s arrival. We then worked with a wonderful local photographer and camera assistant to create a more integrated team and integrate more in to remote and challenging settings.

It started off a relationship with Cameroon and Nigeria that continues to this day, adding to the list of the many African countries that we have ties with.

Ikhaya Labantwana: The Story of a Rural Montessori Pre-School

In the UK a Montessori education is usually only accessible to those that can afford it. Thanks to Sustainable Coffee Bay, Ikhaya Labantwana offer free Montessori education to a remote community in Coffee Bay, South Africa.

This Cloud9Media passion project was a chance see life through the eyes of the local children, witnessing the amazing impact this very alternative education method can have, giving them confidence, independence and hope for the future.

Saving water in Kenya

Charity partnerships like the One Brand and World of Duty free are incredibly powerful – helping raise millions of pounds for long-term causes like clean water. To capture a bunch of people who have never been to this part of the world is rewarding in its own right.
