Case study: FICO: Digital Jane Series
The challenge
FICO, a world leader in fintech, sought to showcase the innovation and tech that goes into the everyday transactions of users of financial platforms. The key focus was to make a relatively complex set of technical processes understandable and relatable.
Our solution
Using exclusively stock shots and working to a tailored script, we created a fictitious character (based on "Emily in Paris"), telling her story as a day-in-the-life. The 6 chapters explain how banks, insurance companies and 3rd party retailers can best interact with customers when and where it matters.
The outcome
The response was so positive, FICO used Digital Jane 1 to show their own engineers the fruits of their labour in 2022, and commissioned a second in the series for 2023, which debuted at their annual conference. It fulfilled its purpose which is to make technology explainable and useable.
“Very, very good. Maybe the best vendor/agency I’ve ever done business with.”
Todd Rollin, Director of Product Marketing, FICO

FICO Digital Jane film series.
This FICO film series has been a huge success for companies working in digital transformation – taking an every day Digital Jane (Jane Doe) and following a scripted story of how FICO® Platform helps clients give their customers a great experience – and shows what goes on “under the hood” in a clear way.
Working with an award-winning script-writer, a team of GFX artists and some judicial choice of stock imagery, we created an entertaining and highly educational series that has helped FICO visually explain a very complex process whilst allowing viewers to imagine how this product might work for them too.
In Ep 1 we meet Carrie the high-flyer bank manager who wants to get more out of FICO Platform technology.

FICO World Event Opener Film – Setting the Tone for 2025
Client Brief
As the film partner for each FICO World—the world’s leading data science and decisioning event—we produce the FICO World Event Opener Film. The client wanted a film that sets the theme, tone, and energy at the start of the week. It needed to inspire attendees while showcasing FICO’s platform and the impact of its users.
Our Approach
We first partnered with FICO World in 2014 in San Diego. Since then, we have refined our approach, creating films that combine clear storytelling, striking visuals, and immersive sound design. This year, we sent a 17-person crew to cover a full week, producing multiple assets, including the event opener.
The 2025 opener continues a three-year story arc. It frames attendees as “financial empowerment heroes,” highlighting how their work with the FICO Platform can transform consumer access to credit. This theme also shows the innovation behind FICO’s decisioning software. By focusing on these stories, we emphasized both the achievements of FICO’s clients and the impact of the platform itself.
Impact and Results
The film energized the audience and set the tone for the week. It reinforced key themes while celebrating attendees’ contributions. Additionally, it marked our 10th year as FICO’s nominated film partner, returning to San Diego where our journey began.
Overall, the FICO World Event Opener Film demonstrates how a clear story and engaging visuals can set the stage for a major event. It connects expert audiences, highlights client achievements, and celebrates a decade-long partnership in delivering high-impact content.

FICO World Intelligence Hero Interviews – Capturing the Voices of Attendees
Client Brief
FICO asked us to create a series of FICO World Intelligence Hero interviews to capture attendee insights and personal reflections during FICO World 2023. They wanted films that celebrated delegates as “heroes of change,” highlighting their connection to AI and innovation. The client also required content that was engaging, shareable, and suitable for multiple channels.
Our Approach
To deliver, we developed the Hero Booth, refined over years at large events. Delegates entered a quiet, soundproof space, where we asked questions designed to provoke spontaneous, genuine responses. The Hero Booth format encouraged attendees to speak authentically.
We opened the 1,500+ delegate event with a theme-setting film on AI and empowerment. Then, the Hero Booth interviews captured attendee reflections. We used these interviews to produce a closing film that reinforced the event’s themes and celebrated the impact of delegates’ work.
By asking all participants the same 3–5 questions, we created a series of FICO World Intelligence Hero interviews from a single session. Consequently, dozens of delegates could appear across multiple edits, providing content for social media and ongoing engagement. The careful editing, music, and sequencing highlighted human expression and made complex topics relatable.
Impact and Results
The Hero Booth transformed delegates into spokespeople and ambassadors. These films strengthened engagement, increased social sharing, and showcased innovation-driven work. Overall, the series demonstrates how human-focused storytelling can extend an event’s reach and give technology a relatable, authentic voice.

This film was created as part of a package for the Medical Research Council (UKRI) – offering a brand film and then an accompanying commercial film that looks at the actual work they do in more practical terms.
Working with an award-winning Creative Director and Director of Photography, we turned the staff of MRC into actors, and their laboratories in to sets as we delivered on a creative that reflects the open-minded, human-centric thinking required to solve some of the biggest problems in life. What causes cancer cells to mutate? What can flies teach us about our own DNA? How can we extend life?
The challenge was how to turn some of the world’s most advanced, future-looking research in to something palatable for the public, connecting quite abstract developmental research in to something that will benefit society.
We focussed on the creative process behind dreaming the impossible, asking the right questions to elicit unimaginable answers.

By capturing culture and personalities, a candid day-in-the-life film like ‘One Team, One Dream’ is used to help prospective candidates decide if it’s the right place for them. And help companies like World Courier recruit the right people with the right mindset to carry out this high-risk and high-reward work.
We spent two days getting down and personal with this unique team that is on the verge of mass expansion. And it’s surprising how much employees love talking about their passion for their jobs – when they’re in the right job.

As part of a suite of films to draw in the right type of candidate, FICO requested a day-in-the-life film to give graduate recruitment candidates an idea of what it’s like to work in this highly pressurised and exciting environment.
Getting an insight into the day to day workings of a company is the best indicator of whether a candidate is going to sink or swim. Working on real time problems that could affect millions of people can put a lot of pressure on a young graduate so FICO wanted to convey both the challenges and the support system in place to help people flourish. To capture all of this, we went undercover at their offices to show just what it’s like to work at FICO.

Identity and Authentication. Everyone loves technology and it’s pretty cool when it works in your favour. But how about when it’s used against you?
In this film, industry leaders from Finance and Technology join forces to discuss identity and authentication – how do we remain safe whilst maintaining the fluidity of experience from the brands we love online?
We worked with different teams to capture the different elements of a busy 3 hours, from asking experts to talk around their field to asking attendees their opinion of it all.
It’s a lot of fun in the making and the positive experience translates well in to the final product.

When the fintech company FICO requested a film that would kick their annual conference off with a bang, they took a leap of faith with this one.
And it paid off.
From commissioning two talented dancers, to bespoke music and a script that tied the evolution of AI to the present day, we created an art-piece that received standing ovations amongst a 1400 strong audience and established the metaphor of AI as a dance that became the central theme for this four day conference in New York.
